Hi Guys!

Thank you so much for joining me on this Quarantine CAL, I have been loving your photos and so happy that so many people are giving crochet a go for the first time too!

I admit that this week I was very distracted and am being a bit lazy again as our next step will be the Multi square which I have some pre-recorded videos that I made with Knitcraft for this block. However, this is just also biding me a little time as Iā€™m learning how to use a video software for next week so I can make some new uploads, as I have never done them myself before. I also next week, along with step 3, will be uploading a video on how to weave your ends in as I was also getting some requests about finishing your squares.

Also, I realised that if you are doing the Jumper design that you will actually want 4 of the Granny squares from last week as 2 will be the arms and you will also need one each for the front and back of the design.

This week we will be making the Multi square, this features a mini granny square, working in treble rows and then working in stripes. Since I first made this design for the Miami Memphis blanket with Knitcraft I have tweaked how I carry my live stitches which are in the final part of the design to an easier method so you can either follow along with the old method in the final video or see the photo step by step below for my update.

TENSION

If making the blanket or cushion and using DK and a 4mm hook you want a 4 Round Granny Square to equal 10cm X 10 cm .

Top Tip: If you are making for a garment size up a hook size to get a looser drape, using a 4.5mm hook you want a 4 Round Granny Square to equal 12cm X 12cm.

KEY: UK Pattern

CH = Chain

Sp = Space

St = Stitch

SS = Slip Stitch

DC = Double Crochet

TR= Treble

MULTI BLOCK

You will want 4 colours for this block and the motif is made in 3 Parts.

Part 1- working Colour A as the Granny square into the gaps between 3TR groups.

Part 2- Crocheting into the stitches along one edge of Part 1 with Colour B.

Part 3- Crocheting into the STs and row ends on the long side of Parts 1 and 2 using 2 more colours, if you want the Memphis graphic feel Black and White works really well here to add a bold contrast to the design.

MAKE 4 in different colour ways for Blanket

MAKE 1 for Cushion

MAKE 2 for Jumper

FINAL MEASUREMENTS: - If working in a different yarn weight for blanket ignore measurements

Blanket/ Cushion 4mm hook= 19cm
